Description

Experience the ultimate comfort food with this hands-off slow-cooker lasagna. By layering tender pasta, savory ground beef, and a rich blend of cheeses, this method creates a perfectly cooked Italian-American classic. The gentle, moist heat of the slow cooker ensures the noodles absorb the sauce beautifully, resulting in a cohesive, flavorful dish without the need for pre-boiling pasta or monitoring an oven. It is the perfect set-it-and-forget-it solution for busy families seeking a hearty, delicious home-cooked meal.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Ground beef
32 oz Marinara sauce (alcohol and pork free)
12 oz Regular lasagna noodles
15 oz Whole milk ricotta cheese
3 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 large Egg

Instructions

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
Drain excess fat thoroughly from the cooked beef.
In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Italian seasoning until combined.
Spread one cup of marinara sauce across the bottom of the slow cooker insert.
Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, breaking them as needed to fit the pot.
Spread a layer of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
Top with a portion of the browned beef, shredded mozzarella, and a sprinkle of the remaining Italian seasoning.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella and parmesan on top.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

Use regular oven-ready noodles rather than no-boil noodles for the best texture. Always ensure your marinara sauce is free from alcohol or pork-based additives to keep the dish strictly halal. Shredding your own mozzarella from a block provides better melting quality than pre-shredded varieties.
