Ingredients
6 cups fresh peaches, sliced thin
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl and toss until evenly coated.
Transfer the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish or cast-iron skillet.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and baking powder.
Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the whole milk until just combined.
Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the peach mixture.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
Notes
You can use frozen peaches if they are out of season. Pastry flour can be substituted for all-purpose flour to achieve a softer, more delicate crust.
