Description
A vibrant, homemade lemonade with fresh lemons, sugar, and water, offering a perfect balance of sweet and tart. Ideal for fairs, gatherings, and summer events.
Ingredients
6 large lemons, organic
1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
4 cups filtered water
1 cup ice (crushed or cubed, optional for serving)
1/2 cup simple syrup (optional, pre-made for speed)
Instructions
Roll lemons on the counter to release juice. Cut in half and squeeze using a juicer or citrus press.
In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Heat gently until sugar dissolves, then cool.
In a pitcher, mix lemon juice, sugar syrup, and remaining 3 cups water. Stir thoroughly.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or add ice to cool quickly.
Pour into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices and mint.
Notes
Use a citrus squeezer to minimize pulp.
Taste lemons before adding sugar—adjust sweetness as needed.
Chill sugar syrup first to avoid diluting the lemon juice.
Strain lemon juice twice for a smooth texture.
Optional garnishes: fresh mint leaves or extra lemon wedges.
