- 4 medium zucchini, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt butter and sauté onion until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add zucchini and cook until slightly tender.
- Mix cream, milk, and seasonings.
- Transfer zucchini to baking dish.
- Pour cream mixture over.
- Top with cheeses.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Let rest before serving.
Notes
Sautéing zucchini prevents excess moisture. You can substitute Gruyère with cheddar. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for best texture.
